Overview

Albemarle County, Virginia, adopted the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC). See § 13VAC5-63-10 (VUSBC), Albemarle County, VA, Muni. Code § 5-101 (code adoption), Va. Code Ann. § 36-97, and § 36-105

Albemarle County, Virginia, adopted the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC), including the 2018 Virginia Residential Code (VRC), which is based on the 2018 International Residential Code. See § 13VAC5-63-10 (VUSBC), Va. Code Ann. § 36-98, and Albemarle County, VA Muni. Code § 5-101 (adoption). Albemarle County, Virginia, adopted the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC), including the 2018 Virginia Construction Code (VRC), which is based on the 2018 International Building Code. See § 13VAC5-63-10 (VUSBC), Va. Albemarle County, Virginia, adopted the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC), including the 2018 Virginia Residential Code (VRC), which is based on the 2018 International Residential Code. See § 13VAC5-63-10 (VUSBC), Va. Existing Buildings

Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.

Appendix J of the 2018 IRC was not included in the 2018 VRC.
